Linch is an unincorporated community in southeastern Johnson County, Wyoming, United States. It lies along WYO 192 southeast of the city of Buffalo, the county seat of Johnson County.〔Rand McNally. Linch also has a branch of the Johnson County Library.〔http://www.jclwyo.org/〕 Linch was named for a local pioneer family. Oil was discovered near Linch in 1947, and is the primary business. The approximately 3 sections of land around the town of Linch is currently owned by Ronald Bruce Linch Sr. whose father Wilfred Bruce Linch and wife Dixie Linch homesteaded the land in the early 1900s.
